IPL set to return to Chinnaswamy as Karnataka government grants permission

The Karnataka cabinet has granted Royal Challengers Bengaluru permission to host their IPL 2026 matches at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium. The venue had been barred from staging games following the June 4 stampede during RCB’s maiden IPL title celebrations. As a result, the Women’s World Cup final was also shifted from Bengaluru to Navi Mumbai. However, on the evening of February 12, the cabinet approved the stadium’s return as a host venue, subject to certain conditions.
