High number of participants and high temperatures at the V. Lasker Tournament in Barlinek
The small Polish town of Barlinek, once known as 'Berlinchen', is the birthplace of Emanuel Lasker. For several years now, the memory of the second world chess champion in history has been honoured with a chess tournament. This year, the organisers were delighted with the high number of participants. Hans-Jürgen Hochgräfe, the German Chess Federation's representative for relations with Poland, reports. | Photos: Bernd Wagner
