A new Indian Institute of Management (IIM) is set to be established in Guwahati, marking the 22nd IIM in India and the second in the Northeast after IIM Shillong. The HRD ministry plans to allocate Rs 600-700 crores in the upcoming budget for the institution, which will be located near Guwahati airport. This will be the first truly new IIM since 2016, as IIM Mumbai (2023) evolved from an existing institution. The state government envisions the institution as part of a larger investment-financial-manufacturing hub in the region., Education News - Times Now
